Grizzly Flats Community Services District recently completed the final tasks of our "Water System improvement Project", funded in part by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Development's loan/grant program. Doug Veerkamp General Engineering was selected to be the contractor for the $1.6 million project. The construction was done in Fall/Winter 2011 and Spring 2012. Construction included installing almost 4,000 linear feet of new water lines, six new fire hydrants, re-compacting the dam of our raw water reservoir, installing a liner in that reservoir and some other miscellaneous upgrades. A project this size was no small feat for our water district that serves just 600 homes and employs five people. The improvements made by the project made our aging water system much more reliable and substantially reduced water loss from our reservoir which will help out community for years to come.
The work done by Doug Veerkamp General Engineering was exceptional. Everyone we worked with was professional and efficient including Mark Rawlings, Travis Skarka, Jon Teie, Debra Owens and all of the crew members who worked on our project. We want to thank them for an excellent job! Construction was completed quickly and efficiently with very little disruption to our water system or our community. Although we encountered a few frustrations and complications during the project, DVGE handles the issues with care and resolved them quickly. The added touches, such as the decorative rock walls near the new fire hydrants were noticed and appreciated by the District and local residents.
It was a pleasure working with your company and we hope to do so again in the future
